According to an article in the European Journal of Heart Failure using pNGAL as well as a standard BNP test, in patients to be released from admission, gave the most precise result, about who were most likely to be readmitted, or to die after release.

This is most interesting, as it opens up another way to the hospitals for the NGAL test. And if your hospital is already running the patented NGAL AKI test, why not use the same equipment for your AHF test?
