The NGAL- test has hiherto primarily been connected with measurement of AKI. This will probably remain the most important area of use, but other areas – such as a marker for anemia are emerging
In a recent study a group of American doctors they investigated the relationship between NGAL-levels and anemia. The results are described in the following article.

Apart from showing the NGAL-levels are good indicators for measuring anemia – the study is also interesting for other reasons:
A: The measurements are done with Bioporto’s test (ELISA I assume) and
B: The study is sponsored by Roche Diagnostics….
